Stuttgart is the capital of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and is located in the southern part of Germany. Stuttgart has a population of around 610,000 people and is called “the cradle of the automobile”. Karl Benz invented the first automobile in the city of Mannheim in 1886, however Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach founded in Stuttgart the first company, which industrially produced automobiles in 1887. Nowadays, Stuttgart is still well-known for high tech industry, because inter alia Bosch, Celesio, Daimler, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Porsche have their European or even world headquarters in Stuttgart.
